With such a large amount of different colors, textures and styles to make a choice from, picking vertical blinds that compliment your home can become overpowering. This allows folks to be unique when choosing window treatments to compliment their home furnishings.

The window blinds change in price according to the type and material of blinds, but they are reasonably inexpensive. Most places that sell window treatments or renovation products carry an impressive range of window screens. Most stores offer installation for a particular charge, but folk can save money by completing installation themselves.

There are not a lot of tools that are needed to install vertical blinds.

You will need: a hammer and nails, level, drill and drill bits, scissors, pencil, and a screwdriver.

Confirm all parts that come with the window screens are present before installing them. Some pieces e. G the anchor aren't included, but may be needed. Prior to beginning installation figure out whether the mount will be on the inside of the window or on the outside.

Measure for Correct Placement

Measure outward from the window about one in. on each side and mark where the window blinds will be placed. Make sure there is sufficient coverage on each side of the window.

Use the drill to make holes where the brackets will be mounted. Wall anchors need to be used when drilling into drywall. Screw 2 screws into each bracket after the holes for the brackets have been drilled.

Head Rail Installation

Insert the front edge of the head rail into the clips and revolve back causing the head rail to snap into the clips. To get rid of the head rail insert a screwdriver between the rail and the release tab.

Vane Installation

When adding the vanes to the rail, turn the stems on the rail so that you can see through the stem’s slots. Softly push the vane into the stem and pull down till the vane hooks onto the stem’s hook. The vanes should overlap if they are installed correctly. Take the rod and hook it on the rail to make the window screens function correctly.

Add the Valance

The valance does not have to be used, but if preferred here are a few directions. Put valance clips on the rail 2 inches from each end. The remaining valance clips need to be spaced out evenly on the rail. Ultimately slide the valance onto the rail.

Using and Cleaning Your Vertical Blinds

Turn the rod to open up and shut the window screens. Before sliding the blinds forwards and backwards, always open the vanes first. After time, dust may build up on the window blinds, especially if they have fabric on them. Cleaning the vanes are simple. Use warm soapy water and a towel to wipe the vanes, removing dust and dirt. Dry the window screens off with another dry towel. Fabric blinds might be vacuumed occasionally.
